A JOSHUA TREE WEDDING ON SUPER 8 AND 16MM FILM / LENNY & JACK
Lenny and Jack got married in the Joshua Tree desert on a warm (but then very cold) December day. They chose Le Chacuel as their backdrop which fit the vibe perfectly!
It was a day full of friendships, unique florals, sunset hues, champagne, and lots of dancing. We couldn’t have asked a better group of people to surround ourselves with.
We shot the entire day on super 8 and 16mm film — you can watch the full video below :)

Read more about Le Chacuel below if you’re interested in getting married there!
“What once stood her was a rundown 1980 yellow and brown ranch style house, until October 2018 when the property where Le Chacuel now stands was purchased by Mila Morris. Since then, their special space in the California Mojave desert has become a peaceful refuge for people seeking a stylish escape from the city.
Morris’s vision for Le Chacuel was a space influenced only by the desert and old-world desert living. Everything has been intentionally set in the home to sit lower, closer to the earth. Morris designed the pool to be partially subgrade and partially above grade and use the elevated walls of the pool to prevent the elements of nature from getting into the pool. Almost everything has been hand-made custom for this space and much of the furniture you’ll experience throughout the property was Cast & Crew designed and built. The design of the house is accordingly minimal, relying on the beauty of its surroundings. The colors of the house are muted to match the shades of sand and the dirt road that stretches outside. The living room’s large sliding glass doors make guests feel immersed in nature.”
VIZCAYA MUSEUM WEDDING ON FILM / KRISTINA & MARCEL
This is part two of Kristina and Marcel’s wedding — if you haven’t seen part 1 yet, you can check it out HERE!
For this wedding, I shot so much film that I decided to break it up into two separate published blogs. So here is the film version of Kristina and Marcel’s destination wedding at Vizcaya Museum in Miami!
All of these photographs are shot on 35mm and 120 medium format film, processed and scanned by Photo Vision Prints.
I can’t stress enough how much fun it was to travel and document this day. Being able to do it on this medium just made it all the more fun — more weddings shot on film please!
It’s a dream to document an entire wedding day on film, so if this blog gets you excited, reach out! Let’s start the convo and document your day on film only :)
For now, please enjoy part 2 of The Apple’s!

A DESTINATION WEDDING AT VIZCAYA MUSEUM, MIAMI / Kristina & Marcel
There is so much to say about this wedding weekend in Miami with Kristina and Marcel.
Everything kicked off with a beautiful rehearsal dinner in downtown Miami, full of their closest loved ones and friends that came from all over to celebrate. Drinks were poured, conversation was had, and speeches were given. It was an incredible way to kick off the weekend of events, and we absolutely loved being able to document it! It was quintessential Miami vibe — with vibrant colors, cuban cuisine, at a venue overlooking the water. Marcel’s dad’s speech had everyone shedding tears. We're so grateful to be invited into evenings like these.
The day of the wedding, we started off at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables. I always love the beginning of a wedding day because it’s a bit hectic, full of nerves and excitement. Kristina got ready with all of her girls in striped silk pjs, and they were overly giddy with her. We quickly moved on to many different locations at the hotel, shooting the first look and some couple portraits to take advantage of the beautiful grounds. They then got in a vintage car and headed off to their venue, the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens.
Cam and I got to do a site visit a couple of days before the wedding, and to say the grounds are stunning would be an understatement. Vizcaya Museum is absolutely massive, with incredible beautiful interiors inside the museum, and unreal garden grounds full of florals and unique textures. It was overwhelming knowing we would need to narrow down the grounds for shots, but it was the perfect playground.
Closest family and friends started piling into the venue to kick off the pre-ceremony family photos. As more guests started arriving, there were cocktails served with popcorn to keep everyone entertained and anticipating. The ceremony itself sits under beautiful ancient trees, and the light poured in perfectly. Kristina and Marcel were married by her brother, which was incredibly emotional and special to witness.
We spent time after the ceremony shooting more portraits before heading into cocktail hour. This happened on the terrace of the museum, and consisted of ice louges, caviar, more cocktails, a phone guestbook, and sentimental speeches. It was a perfect time for the bride and groom to make their rounds and hug their people as the sun set.
Moving into the reception was led by a trumpet player through the gardens and into the reception space, under the tent. All candles were lit, tables ready, and champagne being poured. They even had a cigar roller on property, as well as coffee martinis to get the evening going. The buzz in the room is always so fun to be around, and these people knew how to party.
We left the day late at night just so full of gratitude for the entire weekend spent in Miami. We are so lucky to be able to travel all over in order to document love — it’s something we don’t take for granted or lightly. Such an honor to be a part of Kristina and Marcel’s story!
This is a long published blog, so strap in! It’s worth it.

OSSIPOFF CABIN - 04. IN BLACK & WHITE
There is so much to say about this shoot, as it’s very near and dear to my heart. The amount of planning, dreaming, coordination, and communication that went into it was extensive, but a part of what made it so rewarding.
Shooting at this cabin was a dream come true, and I really mean that. This cabin was originally built in the 50’s by a talented architect, and in the last several years has been restored by the Gill family. It sits 2,500 feet above sea level, and you have to take a pretty windy and very private road to make it all the way up. It’s even better in person than I imagined it to be. The porch overlooks the west side mountains, and the elevation is so high that the weather is cool, which is so unique to Hawai’i. It feels like a masterpiece, and while you’re there you can help but feel inspired
We brought records and had the record player going, loaded our 100 film cameras, shot a bunch of polaroids and drank a bunch of red bull for fuel. We got to all just hang out for the day and create and laugh together and it was just the best.
Getting these film scans back was a feeling I won’t quickly forget, and a massive reason I’ve started the switch to trying to shoot majority film. I was immediately shocked that I had taken these photos, and also just immediately proud of my work. I realized how rare that feeling can be, and I’m just so thankful for all the hands that went into creating on this day in order to give me that. Our friends Sarah and Cody who stuck it out with us the whole day, Cam who stuck it out with me for months trying to plan this thing, Liza who was an amazing host, and Rachel who makes amazing gowns here in Hawai’i and is just such a gem of a human!
The amount to share from this day is endless. Because of the amount of photos, I broke the day up into 4 parts: the morning, the afternoon, the evening, and black and white. Each set tells its own unique story through the photos, and I really hope you take the time to sift through them!
These are my favorite photos to date and I’m excited to share them all on here :)

WE’LL WED IN THE SPRINGTIME…
There is so much to say about this day with Maryoli and Fernando.
Starting off with how they met — they have been friends for a very very long time. They met in a tiny village of their home in Mexico because their parents were best friends with each other. They started dating in their early teens, and now almost 15 years later, they’re married.
They live in the colder weather of Chicago, so they thought switching it up and getting married in Hawai’i was a little bit more ideal. They wanted a place that was unique and fun for all of their closest friends and family to gather.
As soon as they reached out and we chatted a little bit more, it was obvious we were a great fit for each other. The vision that they had for their day was unique yet simple, and most importantly, focused on each other and their closest loved ones. They put sole trust in Cam and I to document their day, artistically and truthfully, and really we can’t ask for any more than that.
They started their day off at a hotel in Waikiki in one of my favorite lobbies in the whole city. They had their first look there which was incredibly special to witness, as always. After shooting around the hotel a bit more, we finally all headed off to the North Shore of O’ahu where they were getting married.
The spot chosen for the ceremony is a very favorite on island, and Maryoli and Fernando chose the perfect time to do so. Like many spots on island, there’s seasons to shoot here and seasons to not, because the weather affects the landscape so much. Getting married in the spring, it’s right before this area completely dries out from the lack of rain, and blooms wildflowers everywhere.
Maryoli wore her new balances from the parking lot to the ceremony spot, and together they and their closest marched out to the spot they would exchange vows. It was picturesque standing underneath massive mountains and next to the ocean.
Their ceremony was mid-day which I’m not going to lie, made us all a bit nervous haha. Maryoli brought umbrellas to shield her guests, and it challenged Cam and I a bit since there’s absolutely no shade in sight at this location. But really, it couldn’t have been more perfect. It offered unique lighting, forced us to get creative and out of our comfort zone, and most importantly, felt totally them.
When I say Maryoli and Fernando only cared about being married, I mean it. The focus was totally on each other which meant we directed very little, let them interact with one another naturally, and just sat back and documented and they completely trusted us to do so. These are the people that we love documenting.
It made for some of my favorite photos to date, and Cam has a video as well I will link below and also blog about later!
